Open Start menu, right-click on Computer and click Properties.
This will open System dialog box that will show basic information about your computer.
You will now see a window that will look like this, Note: Microsoft recommends that you must keep your windows up-to-date in order to remain secure.
And I recommend the same, my computer is always up-to-date, this is one reason I never get attacked by any kind of virus.
On the left sidebar, under See also heading, you will find Windows Update.

How will the story stack up against the greatest films about business?
While giving a Power Point presentation my Vista laptop decided to install new updates and I had to keep cancelling the ‘Shutting down in 10 minutes’ message box, which was very annoying.
How can I exercise more control over the downloading and installation of Windows updates and stop this happening in the future?
To do this you don’t need to install any software at all, you can do this using Windows Driver Settings.
Go to Start menu, right-click on Computers and click Properties.
